The Jessica Lunsford Act was passed by the 2005 Florida Legislature in response to the abduction and killing of Jessica Lunsford in Citrus County. This new law, effective September 1, 2005, will affect you if you have a business relationship with the School Board and you, your employees or your agents will be on school grounds during the time students are there or have direct contact with students or have access to or control of school funds.

Section 1012.465 Florida Statutes require contractual personnel, including vendor, individual, or entity under contract with the School Board to meet Level 2 Background Screening. You may review the link of the category of contractual personnel that best fits your description.

See Procedures for Background Screening.

The District shall review records of any person convicted of a crime involving moral turpitude to determine if the individual is disqualified from providing a service to the School District.
