Lex Carswell
- Began his career at Carswell Timber Co., a local family owned business
- 35 years as an Educator (classroom teacher, coach, principal and administrator)
- 7 1/2 years as Columbia County Assistant Superintendent (under 3 superintendents)
- 3 years with Florida Department of Education in Tallahassee as the Administrator of Facilities for Kindergarten through University.
Lex has been married for 44 years to Pam, a retired teacher from Westside Elementary. Their daughter Becky is a nurse and her husband Jim is an engineer and the proud parents of Brady Reed and Madelyn June, and Chloe Elaine Carruth. Their son Alex works for FDLE and his wife Alexis is a kindergarten teacher and the proud parents of Alex L. Carswell, IV., "Ford", Briggs James, and Nash Robbins Carswell. Lex is an active member and Deacon at Parkview Baptist Church.
Lex graduated from Columbia High School (1977), Lake City Community College and Florida State University with a Bachelors and Masters Degree.
